We ordered two different drinks, one to be made with oat milk, and a Carmel coffee drink for myself.īoth of us became sick to our stomaches, my with is extremely allergic to milk, my guess is the barista counter attitude transcended to her preparation. The other woman was apparently mopping toilets and then entering the kitchen after handling the mop without washing. The two women working were not engaging, and the one who took our order seemed put off to help us. The visit began as a mediocre experience. Not a fan of cucumbers (I don’t know why) but pickle them and they are great! Home Alone 2 and Scary Movie 2 may be the greatest sequels ever. Our goal is to offer our friends and customers quick solutions, may it be a weeknight easy meal or a sweet and simple gift, that is a bit more special than something you may have found elsewhere. When Heidi came to me with an idea, I was so honored and happy to help her think through what Kruse Markit’s retail space should be, and how it could service her community’s needs. Throughout my career, I’ve strived to bring awareness to the smaller brands out there with big impact goals. I have always had a personal passion for new, emerging, and disruptive brands across multiple categories. While I have dipped my toes in adjacent fields, my heart and most of my experience has been merchandising, buying, and product procurement. In the past decade or so, I’ve been able to develop a rich professional career working with a wide range of retailers, from independent start-ups to large corporate. After attending the U of M (University of Minnesota all you Michigan people), retail as a career kind of found me. I’ve always worked in retail, in some capacity, since I was a teenager. My partner Michael and I share our lives with our fur baby, Minnie, who is very social and goes with us (almost) everywhere. Having lived in a couple other great cities, I am a proud Minneapolitan and your South Minneapolis neighbor. Hello! I am Kai Baukol, and I am Heidi’s friend and partner on all things Kruse Markit retail. I have a knack for creating unnecessary projects around the house and at the lake. I love cabin life! My favorite place to be is on the lake with my husband, Jon, and my sons, Jackson, and Anderson along with my Kruse Markit family and our collection of dogs. If I am not at KM I am likely in a gym (somewhere and everywhere) screaming and cheering my son on playing basketball year round. Thanks for stopping by Kruse Markit you cool human! I hope you enjoy your coffee, beer, wine, and amazing food served, created, and curated by the most collectively cool humans I know! Our team is awesome and will not disappoint. My goal was to create a place like the home I grew up in which was full of collectively cool humans, great food, and a daily dose of sarcasm which you will see in the design, brand, and the aesthetic of the dining and shopping experience. I come from a large family (extended and direct). I wanted this brand to represent who I am and where I came from. Kruse Markit is from my maiden name Krusemark. As I grappled to figure out what was next, I decided “Hey, why not create the perfect place I had always been looking for in my super cool city, Minneapolis?!” I wanted to create a place that all people can gather and enjoy in or outside of the café based on their day that day, and with that Kruse Markit was born. After joining the great resignation, I realized that Minneapolis didn’t quite have that cool modern curated grocery I’ve had the chance to find in other cities. I’m an ex-banker turned entrepreneur (still recovering from my 9-5 days)! I've always been that girl looking for the next best coffee shop, market, and restaurant to try. Hi! My name is Heidi Stark and I'm the founder of Kruse Markit.
